The sky is nice but there is no obvious main subject in the photo. There is a dog with a head in the bush and a tree sticking out of the building.

I think if you want the building in the sunset you need to minimize the objects in the picture - maybe a column and the palm trees and avoid the cars and the dog.

Otherwise it seems like you have competing objects.

Please post a larger link and fstop aperature and whether you used a tripod for better feedback.

Welcome to the FM forums, ladinca.

This is a good picture, but can be a little better. It might be a little over-saturated; even though the colors were undoubtedly stunning in person, and this comes through. Try toning down the saturation just a little. You might find that you it best the way it is.

Your exposure is perfect. You have detail in all parts of the image, despite the fact that it is inherently high contrast. You nailed it!

The verticals lean back slightly. This can be corrected by perspective transformation in Photoshop or GIMP.

The points Scott makes about the sky competing with the building facade for dominance are valid. So keep making photos and posting and looking at top notch work and you will develop an eye for these things. Also, often, one simply needs to get out frequently and make a large number of photos from various angles and vantage points to get what onto the sensor a good rendition of what you are seeing and feeling in your mind's eye.

Keep up the good work!
