p.1 #1 · More images with the new diffusers

A few recent shots with the new diffusers. The flowers were shot at +1 FEC between 2 and 3x. No points for composition on the fly -stinker wouldn't hold still. But it should give you an idea of the light quality I'm getting now. Shot at 3x.

Thanks again Amy

Here's another shot.

Vortex

If it wasn't for dust spots I could shoot these in high quality JPG mode -I'm doing very little post processing.

Those are excellent. The diffusers are working well indeed. And thanks for posting the details of how the diffusers were made.

These are looking great, especially like the last, is it an Oxalis? , those diffusers look spot on.

Very nice. I'm still experimenting with Ping-Pong balls--and trying to avoid using hot-melt glue!

Quality of light is amazing there!

I am curious, the puffers look like they include some sort of mounts. Will they mount to the mt-24 heads with no modification (glue, velcro, etc) ?

The only thing I didn't like about them is the light is too "warm" -at least it was with the ping pong balls that I had.

I wish Canon had designed the MT-24EX so that attaching a diffuser is easier. Maybe they'll come out with a "Mark II" version...

Unfortunately no -the mounts won't work

I'm anal about shooting a WB target and using it in post, so the "warm" ping-pong balls aren't a problem.

The Nikon SB R200 macro flashes are also designed to make it damned near impossible to attach improvised diffusers. Scotch Tape to the rescue!

You should see my MT-24EX after all the times I've scraped off the hot glue so I could try a new diffuser...
