I wonder if anyone has felt the effects yet from the looming recession that's supposed to hit our economy. Since we all provide a service that falls more under the category of luxury than necessity, I wonder: does anyone have any apprehensions about '08?
Whaddya think? If the recession comes, do you think the hey-days of the weedding industry are past us? If there are any of you long-timers who have weathered past economic slowdowns, I'd love to hear about your experiences.
I try to stay optimistic, but right now business is doing better than Oct-Dec of last year. I think it really depends on your current clientel and marketing.
People will continue to get married. I don't think people are going to drop prices. I'm being optimistic.
Again, most of my clients are in the higher-middle class, so I don't think a recession will effect their buying habits as much.
Thanks for responding, guys. How 'bout anyone else? Are there any photogs out there who toughed it out through some lean times? Would you care to share your perspectives?
We're hitting record highs here. I don't foresee any issues. Brides get married and, in our market, the economy won't stop this one time event from being what they dream.
