Was not sure if this would offend or not so I erred on the side of caution with the warning.
A reworking of my previous entry but for some reason I couldn't change the image in that post and decided to delete and start a new thread. Thanks for commenting in the previous post Mark and suggesting playing around with the contrast. Hope you like the changes.
It's good to be shooting again,
C&C always appreciated,
Adam

Hi Adam
Prefer this look to the original. I like the fact that the low depth of field actually makes you focus your attention on the ' Gesture '. The rest is almost irrelevent.
Take care
Mark
It was your comments in the original that made me play around with this image, I really appreciated them as they made me go back to the image and hopefully improve it.
Cheers
Adam

Didn't see the original, but this version is very good! A definite portrayal of hate! I like the depth of field and grain. Not sure about the ring if it add or detracts. Since it is a sign of love; one one hand, the contradiction adds to and on the other, it subtracts from the message in the image.
I read your other replies in this MA and have viewed some of your other great work. I believe we all (I know I do) appreciate constructive criticism and want to learn how we can improve our work. After coming up with an idea, carrying it out to shoot it and then processing it, we can no longer stand back and see what it really may look like to a fresh eye. So please provide your feedback when you can. Thanks.
I'm glad you appreciate some of my comments in other posts, I will always be honest with what I say about what I see, that is how I am. I get frustrated sometimes - and I said this in a Vipermike post last year - by all the sugary sweet praise and comments. People ask for comments and critique and don't get anything other than praise when sometimes the only thing that is deserved is criticism. Too many people here are unwilling to cast the first stone but if you don't, how will people learn and improve. My biggest gripe at the moment is with shots that don't fit the assignment no matter how laterally you think. Everyone just says great shot. It may be a great shot but does it fit the assignment, that is what this particular forum is basically about. After that we can look at other elements such as composition, exposure, colour, etc.
