I spotted a bull elk and while tying to stalk in closer I found a Mule Deer Buck laying down in the sun. I didn't want to disturb him so I back off and went around. He looked so peaceful.
Looks like the buck found the only place where there was no snow. He does look a bit bored, the gals musta gone to town.What great images you are getting, this Winter. You are getting beyond the P&S stage..

Thanks for the nice words. Scouting for wildlife is pretty much what I have been doing since I was a kid and I am 65 now so lots of years of practice. I believe after training your eyes it becomes second nature to see them.

I did get closer to him from the background shot. That is why I call my photos Spot & Stalk photos. I try to get a photo of him where I found him and then a close up after I stalk in closer. I used my 1D Mark 3 and my Canon 500mm lens with a 1.4 converter. Thanks for the nice words.
