Hi, this is my first time posting here. These are some pictures I took on Michigan's west coast this past summer. C&C welcome. Thanks.

I like all of them quite a bit. If I was doing anything I would try cropping about half of the foreground out of the first one. Crop between the small twiggy-looking things in the lower right and the dark shadow above it.

The second one really speks to me. It has a kind of other-wordly feel to it. The colour of the sand is great, the broken tree looks very powerful, especially with the tiny animal track leading towards it. I might crop off a bit of sky.

Hey Eugene,

Welcome to FM! What a great into you are bringing here. These are all wonderful shots. Who would have thought shot's like this could have come from Michigan (no offense).

I can't pick a favorite at all, each one is a work of art. I do think there is merit to the crops mentioned already, but that does not take away from how great these are at all!

I look forward to what's next!

Jim

Great set of opening shots, Eugene!
Like Jim, I'd never know this was Michigan!! Very cool!
Striking and engaging compositions.
Welcome and keep 'em coming!

LOVE the processing on these! They are so surreal. Would never have guessed Michigan either.

I have to disagree with Robert on the first one; the crop he suggests would diminish the 'monstrousness' I get out of the image. The shadow really makes the creature like driftwood seem alive, ominous and menacing.

Looking forward to seeing more from you.

Great job on subjects that might be easily overlooked. I love the first two especially.

Well done. Exceptional shots. The second one being the most abstract and most pleasing IMHO. Welcome to the forum. More please.
