I guess I should give some background on this image. After visiting this farm several times, last and this year I loved the look and the horses that are stabled there. Showed the owner a few photos that I had taken in the past. Now with a commisioned job for a farm brochure next spring I am scouting this place for the best locations.
This was not a planned shoot this morning, Just a drive bye on the way to another location.
While approching this I noticed the low lying clouds hanging in the valley so I stopped to view. Well, I sat up two tripods and a handheld camera around my neck hoping for some action. As daylight approached I began to snap away with the other cameras hopeing for some horses to show up. Had a good play with most focal lengths and snapped a few handheld.
As the sun began to break I could feel something good was going to happen.
Perhaps if you look at my last post ( Dark Morning ) I did like.
Too make a long story short, This is my favorite of over 100 shots this morning at this place.
It will have a place in my gallery even if it dosn't make it in the brochure.

PS Sorry about the second post today. Couldn't help it !!!

Cool look to the 'scape. Nice light, and leading lines into the gate and pasture. Nice bit of light over the hill's shoulder, and lastly, that tree. Nice lead in here, where the horses?
This is awesome, Woody. I love the seel tones and the silent presence of the tree. There is a feeling of 'waiting' in this image that I really love. That should be on a wall!!

You keep posting shot's like this, you can post 3 or 4 more today!
What an awesome shot. What a great mood. The light is incredible, and those clouds... man! Great job on this, it would be a great addition in any gallery.
This is just wonderful! The beautifully soft early light, the lonely tree, the layers of gently rolling hills....I really love the fence disappearing into a swale not seen!!
Great work, Woody! And great luck with the commission. What a very cool assignment!!
Hey Bro. Wonderful image. It does look as if one of those low dense river fogs is just beginning to rise behind the right side of the foreground hill. Great eye on capturing the moment. In a matter of seconds their may have been no background save the clouds. The signature of a master.
