I'm still in Death Valley camping, but was able to upload this image from the Sportsmobile.
I got to Zabriskie Point yesterday afternoon not expecting much. I was leading a group and couldn't get the personal 'choice' time to shoot. So at 4 PM, the light and sky were dancin, putting on a spectacular show. Whooda thunkit? It was glorious. Just lucky timing. I was ready with my 1Ds MK3 and 16-35 II.
Very sweet! Who would have thought, certainly not the normal ideal time for Zabriskie, but you sure came away with a winner. Good job on how you got the sun to starburst like that without a bunch of flare spots.
Sweet Shot, J ! Beautiful lines and textures - looks like the MkII and 16-35 Mk II are singing very nicely. Hope the favorable weather continues for this week AND NEXT !!
Thanks everyone, for the kind comments. Like Tim, I never tire of the amazing and perfect ripples at that location. Been there many times, and always want to return.
Freespirit, I stopped my lens down to it's smallest aperature (f22) with hopes of creating the starburst effect, and got it. Then a few CS3 levels adjustment layers for the sky, and foreground and I was there. I did it in my van on a laptop (at least it was a new MacBook Pro with the 17" hi-res screen option). I am going to redo the RAW conversion and all processing again on my home workstation. Still, I was happy with this version.
