I'm a reasonably smart individual... I know a lot of things, been doing photography for 40+ years, doing digital since the mid 90's... I even have a college degree and did pretty well, grade wise. BUT... this Epson roll paper sizing page in the Epson R1800 setup menu, under 'User Defined' sizing defies all logic to me...
The selection of a width and height has to entered in .01" and the range only allows a specific numbers range to be entered. Can someone smarter than me please tell me.... if I want to print a 16"x26" print on a 16" wide roll, what the heck - exactly please - do you enter? _____________________________.
The manual is NO help and maybe I'm brain dead, but a friend just called me and asked me the same thing.... made me feel better that I wasn't the only one....
but I couldn't give him an answer.
We will both be very greatful if this can be rendered down for us morons...

Terry,
I have the 2400 but I assume it works the same.
But I am confused. The 1800 prints a max of 13" wide. Do you have the 3800?or 4800?
Joe
Thanks for the response Joe. Sorry for the confusion... this question uses the dimentions that my friend was trying to enter in his 4000 series. You are right that my printer, the R1800, has a max of 13"....
I see that the next response answers the OH SO SIMPLE question that is made OH SO CONFUSING by the engineers...

Glad you got it solved Terry.

Thanks Duncan... me too... I called my friend back and gave him the scoop... he had to have 2 16x26 prints done by tomorrow morning for a client that was going out of town... I haven't heard back from him, I hope he got them done without a hitch.
