I am finding that I can only process around 10 .cr2 raw files (from a Canon 30D imported into LR off the mac HD) in Lightroom 1.3 (on a new 24" 2.8gHz iMac, 2gb Ram, OS/X 10.5.1) before LR slows down incredibly when exporting the processed files.
Eventually the time taken to complete the export (be it a .tiff or jpeg) gets long enough that quitting and restarting LR is only solution. On restarting the export time resumes to a few seconds per export before getting longer again around 7-8 exports.
It's all fine up until the 7th or 8th export and then things hang at the export stage. Processing the image, as needed, is instant. It is just at export that LR hangs and I get the colour wheel spinning before it eventiually completes the task. The next export is worse again.
I have been playing around, changing between Library and Develop between exports and other pointless attempts to see if I can force a change, but this issue is repeatable everytime. I haven't yet tried to see if i get the same problem with my LightRoom 1.3 on my XP partition but it didn't happen in 1.1. or 1.2 on my old XP PC.
No - I'm not having any issues on either the Mac or PC. I just exported several hundred from a wedding to to JPG. These were 5D and 40D raw files. One difference is I always convert to DNG when importing so technically it's not the same. Sorry if this is Apples and Oranges...
Hope you figure it out.
