p.1 #1 · Philips TL 950 bulbs?

I use a high cri 5000 degree flourescent as my print viewing light. The bulbs are getting old and I'd like to replace them (maybe) with Philips TL 950s which seem superior. Can anyone suggest where they can be bought over the counter in the Chicago area, preferably in the NW suburbs?

The Philips site seems resolutely determined to provide no useful information to a mere consumer, and certainly no specific information of any kind.

Sorry if this is the wrong forum; it seemed most appropriate.

Hi Papageno,

I have some of these bulbs on order and I thought you might be interested.

http://www.bluemaxlighting.com/full_spectrum_light_bulbs_30_ctg.htm

They don't have the exact specs you mentioned, but they are close.

I have had trouble, in the past, trying to get high spec bulbs previously, so much so that I gave up.

I've purchased BlueMax bulbs for the Westcott Spiderlite TD5's from Full Spectrum Solutions. You might check it out:

http://www.fullspectrumsolutions.com/

There are some desk lamps w/5900k and 96 CRI that might work for a print viewing light.

Were these 4 foot two pins on each end40 watt bulbs? Could you order small quantities? And where do you get the desk light bulbs.

And a big thank you for the basic info!

If you have a generic Halo track light somewhere I suggest Solux bulbs for $8/9 each plus the 120 to 12V adaptor. This is a low cost calibrated light source and you can select 5K or museum lighting (3500K).
