p.1 #1 · HDR vs Exposure Bracketing

Hey all!

I was wondering what the difference was between composing an HDR image versus Exposure Bracketing and blending the layers in PS. Specifically, I am taking images of building interiors and wondered what the difference was between these two techniques for my needs.

Thanks all!

Are they both not the same thing? Maybe I am confused but I thought HDR was basically bracketing a bunch of shots and blending them together.

Not an expert - but HDR can combine many exposures - which would be really hard work with layers.

It is much more sophisticated an approach but if a couple of exposures is enough using layers is probably fine.

manually blending layers will give you a more realistic result in some cases. I prefer to decide what I need to bring up and do it myself. Itīs more work but in the end its about control. BUT in some scenes itīs impossible to do (imagine sun shining through blades of long grass or hair...).
