p.1 #1 · Nature's Child

Haven't shared in a while so thought I would ..
I took this at a family reunion and adored this girls look of glee as she played with a water hose..so I changed the BG, used the preset rain brush in PS and painted lightly with a spackle brush.
Hope ya like it and thanks for looking

Cute, she seems very happy indeed.

You've got a bit of a highlight around her hair on the left side, is that on purpose?

Nice contrast between the gloomy background and the radiant expression and pink shirt. Beautiful.

Susi, great, I love all of your work. Is the "preset rain brush" something that you have in the DVD's. Can you please explain what the brush is/does. Thanks.

Jon.

Susi, I have CS3, but I'll admit there is a ton of PS that I don't know. The only thing I know about brushes is when I use a filter, add a layer mask, click on "B" to get the brush tool, and erase my filter's effects where I don't want them. I had no idea that I could create neat things such as your raindrops in your "Nature's Child" shot. Are there any books or tutorials that deal with brushes in the way you use them. Thanks, Jon.

ps, I check the NAPP portfolio page every week to see if one of my shots gets picked as one of the images of the week. So far-no luck, but after seeing your shots there, I know I have a long way to go

Susi, thanks for the help. I went to the site you recommended, and downloaded the "rain" brushes. I've been playing around with them.

There are a few people around, that are so talented, and so secure in who they are, that they share their knowledge and expertise with anyone who has a question. Susi is one of these people. In the last couple of days, I've asked so many questions, that Mother Teresa would have told me to go to hell and stop bugging her-not Susi. Thanks again.

Wow, I think that's the closest to the "Dave Hill" look that I have seen yet. Very well done.
