The Dreamlifter problem reminded me of the C-17 that missed MacDill AFB during a midday landing in July 2012, and instead landed at a small airport about 5 miles away. Oh yeah, Marine General James Mattis, head of U.S. Central Command happened to be on board.
Or the B52 that flew across the Atlantic to do a 2 minute fly by at Farnborough International about 6 years ago and then never appeared for the 50,000 spectators, as it flew over Blackbush airfied, about 3 miles outside Farnborough. One would have thought the lack of stands and only zero spectators might have been a clue - for our British readers - "Should have gone to Specsavers" - interestingly it was a female pilot, I believe!!
