Thanks Gero. Has much as I'd like to take credit - I can't. The official nickname of Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 263 (VMM-263) is "Thunder Chickens". You've got to love a group of Marines that come up with that moniker for their squadron

Even though that is what I do for a living, sadly, I was not part of that film crew though I knew a few people...which was how I managed to get in the security bubble

The footage is actually a commercial for Toyota. People were nervous about the weight and width of the robotic movers under the shuttle...so they switched them out to a different rig and a STOCK Toyota Tundra towed the shuttle over the 405 overpass. Toyota is a big sponsor of the shuttle move...so its really smart of them to milk this.

I don't know what to make of this picture. There's not a darn thing sharp on the aircraft; none. And yet I'm taken with way the smoke seems to be forming a waterfall. I just don't know. What do you all think? Interesting or garbage? I can't make up my mind at all...

Too bad, Rob, but the sad truth is that's a shot you'll just have to file away in the 'ones that got away' folder, and try again next year.

I'm thinking we could start a very large thread called Ones That Got Away. Lots of pages, and not many page views.
