Well done, Steve! I stopped going to this, my local airshow, several years ago because of the brutal sun angles, but you did fine in that crappy light. And once the sun goes down, of course, it's a whole different ballgame. Is that night-show image with the waxing moon a single frame or a composite?
Thanks, it was indeed tricky to shoot at the air show because of the angle of the sun, but I tried my best. The night image is a single frame - I shot in RAW and did some highlight recovery on the moon to get a little more detail out of it. My settings on that shot were 300mm @ f/5.6, 1/200s, ISO 6400, +0.7 EV.
