Finally a little sun and you were lucky enough to take advantage of it. Nice looking hawk, beautiful eagle. Seems the car has been best blind for me approaching hawks too on limited time schedule.
Yea, I never seem to be able to get very close to any hawks unless I happen to see one when I'm driving. Even then they normally fly off.
BTW, the eagles are back at their nest in Sandusky . They seem to be protecting it from any other eagle that comes too close. They just perch on a nearby branch and sometimes in the nest. I think the eggs are laid in late Feb or early March? I'll keep you posted through email.
