p.1 #1 · LCD easiest 2 calibrate?

I'm having trouble making up my mind, or what's left of it, about which monitors I should purchase. I now have two PC work stations running XP and CS3 and two LaCie 22" CRTs that aren't goingto last much longer. I really need something easy to calibrate...being old, ignorant, and all...lol

Which are the easiest LCD monitors to calibrate? The Lacie 526 for about $2400.00 looks like it would be...any other suggestions? Do any of the other monitors..NEC..EIZO..Samsung..etc. come with their own calibraters or does one have to use a third party one...If this has been asked before I apologize in advance.

Most need a third-party colourimeter such as an Eye-One or Spyder 2 but they may, like my Eizo did, come with their own software to drive it.

You still need to profile your monitor and use colour-managed software despite the fact that some of these high-end monitors have built in video processors and look-up table. That LUT is only for controlling gamma within the monitor - not for replacing the profiling via your video card LUT.

The job of calibration and profiling is not difficult but it takes a few minutes. The only complicated bit is remembering to use colour-managed software and making sure it is using the right monitor profile.
