p.1 #1 · Portable filter case...?

Hey guys, I've got about 8 or so filters (67, 72, 77, 87mm) that I want to keep in my bag in some kind of very lightly padded case, or even not padded would be OK since is will go in another bag. Not bulky, well made, will not allow dust or dirt in, and will not scratch glass. Any suggestions/recommendations to look at? Thanks.

Screw same size filters together and use these:

I use B+W's, and I honestly never gave a thought to stacking them. B+W's come with a padded opaque plastic case. When I get a new filter, I write on the plastic case the size, type, and strength (if an ND). I just toss what I think I'll need into the bag. On some occasions, I use a simple fanny pack to carry them and a cleaning kit. Overall, the plastic cases may take up a bit more room, but I find it simpler than unscrewing caps, unscrewing the proper filter, then screwing the cap back on...and the filter rings aren't getting banged up in the process.

Thanks guys, will check out the stack product, looks very interesting!

Anybod tried this by LowePro? http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/153237-REG/Lowepro_1955110_Filter_Pocket.html

Looks like another possiblity.

I did have one from Kenesis which was very well made, but too bulky for this application...it was padded for carry as a stand alone product, not to be carried inside another bag.

I have one that holds four filters that I got as a gift when I bought my B+W cpls from hvstar.net. It works well holding my filters. It isn't bulky or overly padded. I would think the Lowepro version will work fine. However, I doubt either will withstand a pounding.

Thanks Jim...they do look a little on the less than durable side...maybe the screw caps are worth a go...they look very different.

I second the stackcaps but I also screw teh stepping rings in the group so I have one long set of filters going from the smallest on the bottom up to the largest on top since we are using step-up rings. Also , It would be wise not to buy a smaller filter(with the exception of the UV and maybe CPL) of a filter htat you already have in a larger size just get a stip -up ring to adapter it to your lens. It saves on what you need to carry with you.

I agree about durability. Typically, I use the individual cases the filters came in. They are much more durable. Also, I don't carry many filters; usually a couple of CPLs.

I don't normally carry any other than a couple of polas...but I keep clear and UV filters on all my lenses, so you really could say I'm carrying between 6 and 12 all the time. The problem is that I'm starting to remove the filters for most shooting now and take them off. However I often shoot outside and in weird weather where I would put them back on for certain...hence I want to carry them. If I get something not too bulkly I can carry half a dozen with no problem...they are certainly not bulky or heavy.

I don't know your shooting style, but I would think one or two empty B+W plastic cases will meet your needs. Take the filter off as needed and put it temporarily in a plastic case. Return it back onto the lens when finished. The same procedure for the other lenses. Not necessarily rapid shooting but the procedure should work. I would have one or two more cases than the number of lenses used at one time.

Just an idea.
