p.1 #1 · Lee 100mm Square Circular Polarizer | |
Does anyone out there actually use one of these? I've heard people mention them but never heard from someone who actually uses one.
I finally fabricated a filter holder for my Sigma 12-24 which I plan on using this polarizer with. Probably not much for sky/cloud darkening since the lens is so wide, but I've often wanted to cut down on reflections using this lens in riverbeds and canyons and wished I could use a polarizer with it.
So far I've had good enough luck just holding a grad nd in place with my hand, but since the polarizer needs to be rotated while looking trough the viewfinder, not having a holder would not be fun. When I will need a PL and grad nd at the same time, I will mount the PL and still handhold the grad because my holder only has one slot, and I don't mind handholding a grad. Plus, making a holder that can rotate two square/rectangular filters independantly seems impossible (?).
Just curious if anyone actually has one of these and how you like it? Also if anyone has experience making a filter holder for the 12-24 I'd be curious about how you made yours. Mine works just fine but isn't very pretty. Too bad sigma or lee don't make a holder for it, since the difficulty in using filters is a major negative to someone debating whether to buy it or not.
