Greqat shots - looks like a fabulous place. 2 and 6 especially for me.
Much obliged Simon, the wildlife and national parks are beautiful. On the other hand however, this is a lot of poverty, and quite a gap between the tourism sector and the other industries.
Nice set of images. Thanks for sharing.
I think it would be stronger set if you dropped the first (sunset) and perhaps the tree too. The more interesting images (dancer, leaves on tree trunk,) evoke place with your eye seeing things differently.

Thank you S, looking back I'm inclined to agree with you about the Sunset, although it's funny that you mention a dislike of the tree after Maico indicated that it was one of his favorites.
Cheers!
Hi Jazno,
I actually like the dome shaped tree too.
But, when looking at the rest of your images as a group, I feel it is not at the same level as some of the others.
For example, if forced to pick only a very few that define your own 'view' of the subject, I would avoid the 'usual suspects' or 'usual views' (e.g. sunset) as much as possible.
I like the tree. I like the waterfall. They just don't seem that unusual. Your view of the iguana, the leaves, the dancer seem more 'unusual' to me. But, hey, it is just another opinion. Overall, I like them all (except maybe the sunset). I spent a month in Costa Rica 25 years ago and would have been happy to have those pics in my portfolio (I have no pics from Costa Rica, sadly). So you got some good ones there!
Hope that helps.

Good points all-around, S. Thank you for clarifying. When I posted these I was torn between trying to show the country in a photo journalistic sense and showing it in a more abstract and (if I dare give my humble offerings the term) artistic sense. Since I didn't have many worthy images in the photo journalistic style, I went mostly with the abstract. But feeling the more abstract weren't giving a true feel to the trip I added a a few more typical images.
Hmmm.....
...Food for thought.
Anyhow, I'm begining to agree with you about the sunset, blah.
I have the same difficulty of choosing what to show when showing my own work. Some people look at my highly realistic paintings and ask "Do you have any abstracts?" while others look at my abstract paintings and ask "Do you have any realism?" (Sigh)
Others see my photographs and they don't know what to think. Some think they are paintings and ask "Do you have any photographs?" (Grin)
I look forward to seeing more of your work in the future (sincerely!).
