Anyone experiment with various teleconverters on the Sigma 120-300 (EOS mount)? I had the new 1.4x and 2x Kenko 300 Pro DG TC's a while back and they were pretty nice, but I sold them after not using them for awhile. Now I have the TC itch again...
Of course Sigma says their TC's are the best on their lenses, but has anyone done any comparisons?
I've tried the canon & the sigma and found NO differance. So buy the sigma and save some money.
Mike
PS I've only used 1.4x I've NEVER had good IQ with ANY 2x

Was your 1.4x the EX DG APO or the earlier version? Thanks.
I don't favor the 2x either. Just very difficult to get a keeper. Examples of what I've tried to do with it at the link below so you can judge for yourself.
Got the 1.4x DG, here are two 100% crop 40D comparison shots. Poor shop lighting at ISO 800 and the exposure was slightly different, so I reduced the brightness of the w/tc image a bit. Would have been better to do it in RAW I suppose, but I didn't bother. Focus on the center of the color grid using 10X liveview. ~280mm w/o TC, ~200mm with. Sharpness loss isn't bad, though the loss of contrast/saturation with the TC is more noticable. When clipping out sections of the images and looking at them side by side, I'm pretty impressed. Very little difference, seems like even less difference than when looking at the images as a whole.
