Hello,

I've just registered, or possibly re-registered... I thought I joined FM long ago but I could not find any record of it. At any rate, I am a self-taught photographer and Photoshop freelancer currently trying my hand at some photo illustrations (I am hesitant to call what I do "art"). I have posted a sample here for comment, hoping for honest criticism. I want to be able to develop a style and sell my work at some point, so I'm looking for a dose of reality in the feedback.

I think this one might be more effective if the protruding feathers were on the bottom instead of the top, but that didn't occur to me until I had already done it the other way.

EDIT: I originally posted several images here, but I realize that most of them were out of place. I left the only one that might be called a photo illustration. Sorry.

Nice treatment and attention to detail with the shadow behind the protruding feather. Agree with your accessment about protruding feathers along the bottom. None the less, nice work. -Art
