First of many photos to be processed from a recent trip to South Florida. This was Taken at Ding Darling NWR at the second pool on the left as you enter the park. Fortunately no cropping was needed. What an amazing place!

That is an awesome shot. The colors are fantastic. Very sharp and well exposed too. I noticed in the exif you used shutter priority. Do you shoot a lot of your shots in that mode? It works well for ya anyways.

Thanks alot! I am looking forward to processing more. Although it is a catch 22 when you get back and have to sort through GBs of data.

I agree that it is tight, although I am just happy he/she fit it the frame. Thanks again for the kind critique.

Thanks for looking Mark. I originally got in to photogrphy by shooting marine mammals for work. From this I found that you needed a certain shutter speed for certain animals (ie leaping dolphins 1000+) or else the shot was out of focus. I can make exposures better in RAW, but there is not much I can do with a fuzzy or grain filled image. That said the conditions were perfect on this morning and I lucked out. Thanks again for your intrest and kind words.

Charlie

Thanks Doug,
I shot it with a 100-400mm and 1.4X teleconverter. I had it on the 1.8 m setting because I knew it was going to fly directly overhead. The color was due to early morning light. I was shooting rapid fire as it approached and this was the only close-up shot that had the entire bird in the photo. Sometimes luck wins over experience.

Charlie
