p.1 #1 · Whitetails in the morning light

Good evening Everyone,

We had another cold snap here in southern Alberta, but the crisp snow and the morning light made this one more interesting for me, I hope you like it....

Love the beautiful light and open space, Tom. Where was this one taken?

Tom this is awesome. The lighting and color just make this photo beautiful! The doe in the forground is distracting, though. Too bad she didn't turn to look at you when you snapped the photo. I wonder if a vertical crop taking out the one doe would work? The overall feeling of this photo is quite pleasing! thanks for sharing.

Hi again,

I appreciate you responses.
Stephen, I found this pair in the countryside about midway between Pincher Creek and Waterton.
When I took the photo I only had a moment to take it, before both bolted, I wish I had one with the fawn facing the camera too, but I also like this one where the tail is flagging and it's a bit less static this way.

Thanks,
Tom

This image is absolutely perfect. I love every aspect of this image:The light, the snowy mountains blurred in the background. The deer look nice and healthy. The Doe standing broadside looks pretty BIG. Impressive shot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tom,
Thank you for the additional information. I have no problem with the fawn looking away from the camera, which actually gives the shot a bit more natural looking. I will not change a thing in your shot.
