I wasn't going to submit this week but I had this last-minute thought and became quite taken with it. The setup was fairly hacked together, so I'm not altogether happy with this execution but I still like the idea and I hope that I find time to revisit it some day.
Thanks for the comments! I was worried someone might comment on my table tennis form. At least it was a nice comment though ;-)
With this shot, I don't think my focus is as far off as it looks. The combination of a high ISO and trying to move only my arm when making the shot (much harder than it sounds!) have made things very blurry. I have a bunch of ideas for take-two of this shoot...this WA was a great learning tool.
Great shot. The noise adds to the feel of the image.I think you did a good job with how you are in focus during the long exposure, with all the other motion going on. Color touch is well done. Nice comp.
I tried this in another WA, but the player was as blurry as the motion. It was taken outside at night. The main color was the orange streak of the ball (which was the only part of the picture that looked good). Please post if you decide to do more. I'd love to see your ideas!
Bryan, I am fairly new to this too. I did see some tennis in the Sports section. Table tennis may fit well in their too. Maybe someone else has a better suggestion?
