My 1V shutter went out on me on roll 118 2 weeks ago (Ebayed with 40 rolls on it a few months ago. Same white streak....except I didn't find out until I processed 6 rolls. +1 for digital. Oh, and I had the errant shutter blade in random pictures too. I was thinking, there's NO WAY I let my camera strap get in front of my 24-70 w/lens hood on it. !
1D mkII cameras must have had a big batch with faulty shutters, the majority of 1D2 shutter failures i see on the net are between 20,000 ans 60,000, mine blew at 32,000, but i got over 200,000 on the replacement shutter... YEEE HAAA
Yep, that was the same story with one of my 1D II's. 14k and the shutter was showing signs of failure ( light streaks ). Canon repaired for free.
Oh yeah serial was 207---
In less than two weeks I had my entire shutter replaced - yes that's what it was. Kudos to Midwest Camera Repair in Wyandotte Michigan. I didn't think I was getting it back that fast, and I need my camera this weekend.
