Stunning Socrate.
I've been solidly on the fense about possibly "upgrading" to a 40D from my 30D instead of trying to find a used MKIIn. Ive seen soo many post with mixed results from the 40D and nothing like this so far, you may have just made my mind.

Wow these are excellent Socrate... now I don't know who to give credit to. You or the camera. I know the camera is only as good as the guy/gal behind the lens. Wonderful job on all of these.

Heck of a way to show case the new camera, Socrate. Exceptional in every regard!!! I noticed when upgrading from the XT to the XTi I had about the same exposure differences. Must be Canon's new modus operandi with metering - favoring slightly underexposed as opposed to risking highlight clipping.

Thanks for your comments, Ken. I believe you're not to far from the truth about Canon's new modus operandi with metering.

These look incredible!. All the hummers are crystal clear. Not to mention the rest of the pictures. But I haven't seen those little guys that clear. Nice set!

Socrate, whether you shoot with 30D or 40D your images are flawless. Since a 40D is on right hands now, I hope that we can get very accurate assessment with regard to IQ and high ISO shooting capabilities of the 40D. For me if Canon has been able to maintain the same noise as 30D even it is a great plus since 40D have more pixels for cropping than 30D. Looking forward to hear more technical comparison from you soon. Thank you for sharing your images and your experience with 40D.

Hi Jude. Thanks for your comments. I appreciate them .
Great series, Socrate, between yours and Greg's posts I believe that the sales of the 40D will probably go up a few hundred percentage points for the wildlife crowd.
Never seen better hummers, Socrate. I'm curious about the exposure details - I'm guessing you're shooting the hummers at f8, they sure don't look wide open - what ISO? From what I've seen so far the 40D looks like a winner - especially in your hands -
Wow , what a impressive collection Socrate, looks like a keeper. Those hummer shots are just superb. I'm glad you're happy with your new toy.. now go out and shoot more and keep them coming.
