Does anybody know how I can create my own custom curves?
The canon utility (where you can set the personal functions and upload them through firewire) lets me choose a custom curve-file, but won't let me draw my own curves.
It'd be nice to experiment with that cross-processed look in in-camera jpegs

Nice shot jxsq!! Great action!

i threw rocks at my other camers after i got my 1d.
the 1d camera cost over five grand when it came out and to
be able to pickup up a lightly used one for a thousand was
just awesome for me. it is a solid reliable workhorse

is it possible to illuminate the af-point in the viewfinder while using ai-focus and ai-tracking?
I'd like to see the focus point while tracking a moving subject in stead of hoping it'll choose the right subject

Is that Woody Allen playing?

Anyway... come on guys... stop with the pictures. I don't need another body! You're going to coerce me into doing something I shouldn't.

The bummer about the 1D, is that it doesn't work with MS Vista. The remote connections don't work through DPP.

I still use my 1D occasionally and still consider its AF and IQ (not taking into account of pixel counts) are the best among my other 1 Series cameras (1Ds, 1DMk2 & 1DMk3) . The 1D images require the least post processing and the images from my 1DMk3 remind me a lot of my 1D images (crispy and SHARP). The limitation of my 1D : it is not very good for an image with tons of details as in a landscape shot and leave no room for cropping, due to its 4 MP. It is amazing that Canon can build a camera like that so many years ago.

I have one and use it primarily for day lit sports. However, I do use it as a b/u for FB; I do not use it past the 1250 ASA. The noise looks more film like to my eyes and it is very sharp SOOC, much more so than my 5D, Mk2 or Mk3.

Wish the images would auto rotate, however that is my only real issue.

The cam is amazing, I love it, did a 16x20 for a client the other week and was stunned by the quality of the print. It's hilarious when you tell them it's only 4mp. The all look at me funny. Whenever anyone asks me about my 1D it always ends up turning into a mp war then I show them the pics and they all quiet down. Only beef is that vista doesn't support it and the viewfinder is no F3 Hp but we all have our dreams.
