I'm very, very happy with the combination of great high ISO performance and the extra MP. Makes a big difference in even small prints - much more detail than I was able to capture with the Mark II, even when using Lightroom.

From yesterday...sure, you get sharp pics, but mine has AF servo issues...but what is right is very nice indeed. This is not a great composition, but the detail is super.

Before this thread is buried, here are few new images with my 500f4 + Canon Tc. It is hard to believe that I have shot over 10K with this amazing camera, and I am still have to hit Bosque yet

My AF is spot on with my 500f4, with or without TC, after I adjust the AF Micro Adjustment on the combinations. I have already paid for the feature and might as well use it. YMMV.

if the exif is correct it was shot at ISO6400. nice shot!

Thank you, Joshua. I will be there from Nov 22 to 28. It will be quite a few FMers in Bosque this year around Thanksgiving. So far, I think there will be close to 10 FMers in the area around the same time, and at least three 1DMk3 on the ground. We will have time to compare notes. Please send me an email with a bit more details of your plan as I am hopefull putting a FM get together in Bosque this year.
