Somewhere along the line you got some chroma noise reduction in there, otherwise that's not a Canon CMOS sensor.
I'd say the same thing Jeff, If I didn't see it for myself. Took the RAW over to my local camera shop/hangout... Same reaction. But then, I guess my III is special, I've had no problems with focus either! :P The image was shot one stop over and pulled in lightRoom.
Considering most everything I process from any of my cameras uses some ACR/LR manipulation, I'd still consider this very impressive in comparison to other 1D series bodies at similar settings.

That looks more like the Canon CMOS we've come to know and love! It is amazing that the camera does so well at 6400, looks like my old 1Ds at 800...
Not a doubt!
...or my SD-10 at 200..
I'm having problems getting to my FTP server from home tonight, I'll put the RAW up tomorrow from the studio if anyone is interested.
Great, just great. I convince myself I need to drop a bunch of coin on a new body and now I have Shane proving that I need a 400 2.8 as well. Oh, poor me, when will it end?
I am blown away by a few shots in this string, and I hope that the AF issue is one day buried forever because some of you are sure posting some masterpieces.
Gary, that "Flyer" grabbing the hit is unbelievable, right down to the turf coming up from behind.
Hrow, all I can say is there is much more going on in your shots than "camera" ability. Those shots are amazing, but, the camera definitely seems to help
XsigmaSD, your 6400 ISO samples clearly demonstrate the value and usefulness of that ridiculously high setting
Shane, your night shots are striking
Jeff, your "Swingin Around" is an amazing action shot
EMC2, that landscape shot, even if post processed, is purely amazing in color and saturation, as well as composition
Nick, that bike shot is unbelievable for all reason stated, especially the eyeballs of the rider
There is another shot of a "Lady in Red" taken with the camera that simply blew me away, but it wasn't in this string. Can't recall exactly where, but if any of you saw it you'll remember it.
Keep them coming, I'm a poor man but if I keep seeing stuff like this I'll have no options left but to join the Mark III club...after Canon fixes the glitches, that is
Great stuff people, and, Bonnie, I've already seen enough good stuff from you in the area of wildlife
All of the shots in this string are excellent but the ones above are the ones that blew my mind
