First i need to apologise for not being able (time wise) to spend more time and comment on pictures (some of them superb) of other members , some times i wish there were more than 24 hours in a day.

About the picture now.
My eye caught this tree while i was driving around the isle of Bute and i just loved its isolation , just standing there on its own in an empty field waiting for someone to take its picture.
Well,i couldn`t resist.

12 mm on a full frame camera.

Dimitri:
No need to apologize. We're all in the same boat. There are so many wonderful images on this forum it is impossible to recognize them individually. The level of creativity and devotion is remarkable.

Your title says it all. Very well seen and most appealing. Thanks for sharing this one.

Wonderful light on the old tree, Dimitri. Looks like it catches lots of wind.
And a very cool sky backing it up!

Hello Dimitri,

Looks as though it has withstood its share of adversity too. Good work.

Well, I completely empathize with you on not having enough time, as I'm about to leave

Anyway, I really like this image, and I really like this kind of image, with the lone tree in the middle of a field with a vast sky. I can never find such a scene to shoot though, so thanks for sharing. The lighting is great, and that sky is really cool. This isn't really a critique sort of remark, but personally I think I would prefer not to have the buildings on the right side. Although my roommate remarks that perhaps the bark on the tree looks a little too green.

Nicely done indeed. I can see why this tree caught your eye, it has a lot of character. I think that you've framed the shot nicely, and you were definitely there at the right time, as you've captured a beautiful sky as well.

Simple but fantastic! The clouds really help the tree as well.

Now that's an awesome sky. Nice capture. I'd consider cropping the right side of the image as the clouds don't have much detail on that side.

Beautiful shot Dimitri. Finding isolated trees is not easy !! Couple comments. I also would prefer to not see the man made structures on the Right. They are far enough away that at 12mm they don't add anything and take away from the main subject. Also, the farthest Left part of the tree is stretched some due to the placement of the tree at the left edge. I'd use the "Transform/Warp" tool or perspective tools to get the tree looking more natural.

Awesome lighting !!

Right hand side now stretched and cropped on the original, good advice.

No,its not, actually the left hand side has already been cropped a wee touch, the shape of the tree is original,i had to adjust the lens` position to such place as to not alter its shape.

Thank you all for the kind remarks and also for the good advice, highly appreciated.
