Wonderful shots of some great subjects. Everytime I wander into these ethnic enclaves/festivals, I find it is so totally uplifting. You caught the mood brilliantly
By the way. The young lass with the golden locks. Was she stalking you or were you stalking her

Tim

It is indeed mood uplifting. The red haired lad, yes, it is inevitable that I'd take a shot of her but yes, it was her.

Nanocoating, great shots above with the jets using a D800!!!

Had a weekend full of rain.

Took a chance to test out the 35 Rokinon. Havent yet nailed the 1.4 shots. But loving the lens still.

First time using Capture One as well and I am not able to find a good source to learn it. The images appear too... contrasty.

Thank you for your kind words, Ray. D800E is a great camera, and I am still amazed how capable this great tool is. Here's 100% crop from one of the pictures.

dubaiphil, that is a bloody awesome cityscape, very well done & I'm very impressed with how well the distortion corrected.

Thanks Mike and elbeasto

I'm not so keen on the distortion, top left, which you get from tall structures towards the edge of the frame when you're shooting wide with the 14-24, but like the image.

I think that could be fixed with a little more lens correction in Photoshop. Other than that you'd need a TS lens to get any better.
Really makes me want the 14-24 as well as my new 16-35, dang.

Just finished a large commercial campaign here in Norway and wanted to treat myself to something special. Found a copy that was used once, so the condition was like new, for a good price. Got it in the mail today, and it's quite a beast. Hand holding is not too bad, it's the carrying around I think will wear me out. But after the few tests with it today I'm very impressed, sharp as hell, VERY snappy AF and almost no CA. After some testing I found it needed quite a bit of MA, but I'm still happy.

Here is one of the first shots with my new to me 200mm f/2 VR1:

Anton, can't wait to see what you do with the new glass - I should use my VR1 more but I often leave it at home due to the weight. Mine took -20 adjust on my D7000 and -15 on my D800, but at least it's in range :-)

I was trying to duplicate your backlit shots with the 85 1.4G and model - Amanda? last night, couldn't get there - need more practice in that situation (tips?); but I did learn that I'll need to camouflage myself better in the future and watch out for reflections! Unbelievably easy to miss focus at this distance too - kept getting eyebrows, as in this one, and then eyes are OOF - maybe I ought to AF and dial in some front focus on the fine tune haha

D800 / Sigma 85

Watch out for those reflections!

Just a few from today's tech expo. No photoshopping, no cropping, just loaded to NX2.3.4. Cheers.
