Yesterday my cousin who is a polo tragic was organising the filming of a particular (Historical for Australian polo) game from the 1920's

We were required to try and dress in the period which some did in spectacular fashion

Some turned up in period cars, and all got involved

A few selected shots from yeterday. I wasn't expecting much even tho I wasn't able to spend enough time taking photos of the event. The first batch, I only spent 15 mins shooting around 5pm and went back before sun down for the low light sunset shots for another 15 mins, which turned out to be fine but I missed the fireworks at 9pm. Overall, the festival was fun and luckily the performers and dancers on the road were all photogenic, so that made my job easier, all I had to do is frame and shoot. The Nikkor 17-35mm AFS is just terrific...I can't believe I survived using the Nikkor 18-35mm. There is a Big difference between the two lenses and it's an inspiring lens to use even on DX. Better on an F4...

As usual, no photoshopping, no cropping, just loaded to NX2.3.4.

It's not such a great photo technically, but while trying to take pictures of the Milky Way Saturday night, I noticed this streak at the top of one 18 second exposure. I'm an amateur astronomer and consulted an astrophotography forum and a satellite tracking website to find the origin of the streak. It is the International Space Station, which crossed the sky over a three minute period just as I was taking photos. I was thrilled.
