D300 w/ 300 mm f4 @ 1/750 sec, f4 ISO 3200

My first attempt at a hummingbird. Taken handheld in the backyard right around sundown. A little noisy, but had to use ISO 3200 to keep the shutter speed up.

Here's a portrait. This guy was watching some teenage girls, who were to my left. He clearly didn't approve of whatever they were doing. He watched the girls for a bit, then snorted in disgust and walked away.

hey, very good, and you used the venerable 18-70 lens, gosh I miss that one, got some good shots with it when I had one. The hot dog posture is a good one, in my experience they come in well after about 12 Becks and a wine chaser.

Yeah the 18-70 is still my go to lens for social shooting or in unknown variable settings. All my other lenses are too big, long or wide and are very specialised. The 18-70 keeps going string though. I've wanted to replace it several times but it's just so versatile! I think I'm going to end up keeping it for ever and just adding the Sigma 30 f/1.4 for some low light shots.

I'm not sure this particular hotdog would want you gobbling it up after 12 pints of Becks! :P

Sucked some color out in LR, I like the effect but the foreground gets a bit messy.
