The 2x Canon breaks down in quality a lot on distances farther than 30 feet. The 1.4x Canon and 1.4x Kenko Pro are much better.
For $130 I think everyone should have the 1.4x Kenko Pro.

Just curious Will that TC can be stacked with a Canon 1.4x TC and still allow AF on a 20D right? (even if the resulting f/stop is f/8 on my 400mm DO)
Does it work well?
That's correct. On a 1 series you can AF with a combo that's f/11 wide open such as the 400 f/5.6L + 2 1.4x TCs.
I have this combo but never tried it. After what I saw in this thread I'll try.
I use the 2x with 300/4L and I am happy with the results and I think in the end this is important. You can buy one used in the B&S forum and if not happy resell with minimal loss of money.
Very interesting the stacking of 2 1,4x.
Just a bit off topic:
Anyone tried the kenko 1,5x MC-7 or the promaster 1,7x? (just to have a different option)
