Just put this together and up on youtube, it's a video we did while doing a glamour model shoot.
Though nothing amazing, thought people here might want to see some behind-the-scenes stuff...

Thanks. Here's an interesting quote 'Make up is more important than lenses and strobes". Maybe that's what I gotta learn next hehe.

Great stuff. You comment that the makeup artist makes or breaks the shoot. What is the MUA artist doing for the subject from a photographic perspective, and how do you find your MUAs? In what way does cosmetology for photography differ from "regular" makeup application, and is this part of the standard curriculum for cosmetology students?

I like your style and plan...I like the idea of your model changing swimsuits every 10 minutes it...the meter is ticking whether your shooting or not. It pays to have her busy and the photographer shooting...it also pays to have a plan.

I see that she wore a robe in on small part...I remembered that you stated she was uncomfortable when you move the shoot outside and a crowd gathered. I would think that most of the women that work for you get a little shy or uncomfortable at some point.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Maurice... great to see.

Like Britt said, it's interesting to see how quickly and simple things go when the photographer really knows what he's (or she's) doing.
Something to aspire towards.

Maurice,

I would love to see you do a follow up with a little more detail on how things were done. I am particularly interested in the image you have of the model where she is laying on a funky sofa where you said you "painted her with light". I must admit I don't really understand what is involved, I have heard of the technique for architecture where you fire multiple burst of light onto different areas during an exposure, but don't see how that would work for people.

Cheers,

Daniel.

same thing, Daniel. You should try it sometime
Use a flashlight, LED light, what have you - something that allows you precise control over the light vs. a broad, wide and quick flash or strobe.

Nice video, Maurice! If you're ever in DC, I'd love to have you on our show (basically THIS, but in a structured 30min format for broadcast).
