Just heard from an impeccable source - new 350D (Rebel XT) Replacement soon to be announced -
called the 400D, 10MP, 9 Point AF, 2.5" Screen etc. Available in Black & Silver as per 350D.
That's all the specs I have - 10MP is the interesting one.....where does this leave the 30D ??
I just heard from an impeccable source that Canon's also releasing a 18-400mm f/2.8L IS zoom by the end of this year. The MSRP is $1290, we'll see how it sells. An interesting lens indeed. I'll have to make sure it gets added to my collection.

Thats not so abnormal, if they plan on a mass release right away, would be logical with a low end camera the cameras should be starting to go stock around the world know. Aint something you ship in a day ro to...
I have no clue if what is stated is true but it being in stock and not yet released is not that uncommon.

What is the US version going to be called? 90% of the time people refer to the 350D they actually mean an XT, so are they finally going to unify the name? I see so many times people advertising the 350D for sale and I think 'that would be cool' but only to see that they really have the XT.
The lens sounds sweet but if it were true, the price would be way more than that. Also how big would that sucker be?
