It's nice but I would have liked to have more focus on the front of the ah... thingy in the middle. It's now hard to see where focus is because the high contrast in the hmm... black and white "sticks" in the middle. Attention is a bit drawn away from it to no place particular. Only my view though! Keep them coming! And I'll read up on flower vocabulary

What you have there is a stamen from a Cosmos. (well a bunch of them)

The DOF is tight, which either could have been solved two ways. Smaller Aperture (of course) or focussing on the front half of the stamen/bug rather than the back half.

The B&W in my opinion swallows up the bug as the bug is not sufficiently contrasted against the pollen. Looks better in color.
