Here's a picture I took last weekend at the Exposition Park Rose Garden in Los Angeles with the DMR and 100 APO Macro. I liked how light played on the flower.
I knew somebody was going to ask what rose that was. This dummy forgot to note which vairety it was, so I have no idea.
Those LED flashlights can be very tiny these days. Maybe the bug (I don't know which it is) was shining something in there. Actually, didn't do a thing to the flower in photoshop. I darkened the background a little.
I thought I might add another film alternative. This slide is about 7 years old. I was flipping through some old film files and decided to scan it.
Slide is very sharp with tons of detail. Easily a match for nearly any DSLR save the 1Ds MkII. Taken with a Contax G2 with a Zeiss 45mm/f2.0 Planar lens on Kodak E100SW film.
Just got the 180 f2 and wanted to post the first of the images taken. This seems to be a wonderful lens but I am still playing to find where it's strengths lie. i see a wonderful future. Woody Spedden
Just to show what was possible I took the above image and cropped for a portrait and actually printed at 22 X30 with great result. This shows better what I really wanted which was focused on the new birth of the colt. The colt is so yong it could not yet stand on its wobbly legs for more than a minute before falling down. Really a warm wonderful scene.
Certainly shows to my satisfaction that for prints to 24 X 36 the 10mpix of the DMR is more than adequate. I am really pleased to have it and continually need to thank Guy because he made it possible to really understand what is out there. Thanks again Guy and thanks to Rob and Viktor for all their terrific advice as well.
These lenses are so sharp on the 5D. I can hardly imagine what they would look like on my screen with a DMR. I don't want to know, so don't tell me.
I am having trouble getting the colours right with the 5D, sometimes. They just look under-saturated and if I boost the saturation, they don't look natural any more. I had a killer shot today, and shot it a couple of different ways before the light changed. It was a Jesus-ray hitting a red tulip dead-on, in the middle of gravestones and grass, in the local cemetary. I cannot get this shot to look good. I should probably try different Raw developers. Perhaps either Raw Developer or Capture One would be better than Adobe Camera Raw or Aperture.
Okay, your colours are better than mine Ack ack ack.
This is off-topic, and I apologize for asking, but I would like to ask if there is anyone here who is willing to give my a pat on the shoulder over in the B&S. I am selling my Canon 70-300DO and although there are around 400 views, not a single email. New price is 1150 Euro, I am asking 1000, and it still has 22 of 24 months warranty, and is absolutely immaculate, so I think it is a decent price. My guess is that since I have no sales on FM before no one wants to take a chance on me. Does anyone here feel that they know me enough to say that I am a nice guy and probably won't steal anyone's money? I am scrupulously honest in my dealings, but of course anyone would say that. I need to sell this lens to recover a bit from the bleeding due to Leica-purchases, and to finance a 35 Summicron.
The header is "REDUCED FS Canon EF 70-300DO IS USM", and it should be on the first few pages, as I have been adding info and pics all along to help it not drop too far too fast.

I believe the rose is called Double Delight, the fragrant is also out of this world.
OK. How about another "alternative"?
Snapped two images with the Contax N Digital while out walking the dog this afternoon. This was the first one. Zeiss 50mm/f1.4 N-Planar, 1/90 sec at f1.4, 100 ISO. http://gallery.photo.net/photo/4416991-lg.jpg
