OK. I'll bite, especially since I was just doing a little scanning.

This is real alternative. Film.

Mamiya 7II, 65mm lens, Velvia 100F, (almost straight from a Nikon 8000 scanner, minor PS adjustments)

Victor, expressive shot from Albi! Wonderful place btw. Their enormous and amazing cathedral must be one of the best kept secrets in France. Here is a shot of (part of) the ceiling. Olympus C-8080.

Dear Lotusm50

This was last summer, who can remember!

I think somewheren in between. I did not have a good white balce (all shot VERY dark ambient light except ceiling. I suspect C1 tried to cool down the tungsten but tyhen made the sunlight on ceiling too cool.

But was not so warm as Arne except that larger view was warmer than mine.

Always need that WHIBAL!!!

(only purchased after this trip)

Also, I am having trouble with conversion from Prophoto to sRGB. Too cool. Maybe I will go back to AdobeRGB first.

P25 tricky in this light

Also I had waist level finder on. Not the best for these shots (I was trying to be inconspicuous, difficult with Contax 645!

Regards
Victor

Victor, is the P25 tricky in that situation because of trying to hold the highlights? I'm finding that the "expose to the right" mantra doesn't always work too well, but that's coming from my experience with Canon and it's cmos sensors.

Victor, I thought you had been there, and once inside what photograper worth his salt would not be urged to make images
As for colour, there are too many lightsources to really say what's "right", but generally I agee that the Oly shot tends to bee on the warm side and Victor's on the cool side.
Here's another one with the C-8080.

Dear Arne

Really good.

I know how difficult that shot was to get! I really missed my 35mm, only had the 80mm and the P25 is not good high ISO. I think most at 400, and f2 (so wide open. Still most shots were over 1/8s. I will take the DMR to corsica/cote'd'azur and many more lenses!

Did you catch the humourous misericordes?

That color balance looks pretty good. Warm anyway since tungtsen lights. But note as Arne say the light from window and spots as well (and a few candles )
. So you have 3000,4000, 5500K all together in same shot.

Dix mille milliers de dons précieux,
Occupent mes prières quotidiennes,
L'un des plus grands : un coeur heureux
Pour goûter ces dons avec joie

That is one gorgeous image!

BTW, I think I may be mistaken. I thought there were Misericordes carved on the choir seats, but I do not have any image. I may be thinking of some other cathedrale. They were more in UK I guess, though I thought there were some carvings if France.

These, were so the monks could rest while standing up during long services.

I almost forgot the anthem though.

One from the "cheap" (they go for about $75) Zuiko 35/2.8. This lens is capable of excellent sharpness:

Fine images Paul, excellent colours. How do you convert the RAW files from the Kodak SLR these days? I tried one with the Canon mount but had to give it up due to colur cast issues when using tilt/shift lenses.

Thanks for the kind words Arne.

I get the best results from the latest Bibble. Colors and sharpness are better than what I can get from all the others RAW converters I've tried.I can get petty close to the same using otther converters with more PP. The color cast issue with some lenses is a problem. The above picture with taken with the Zuiko 35/2.8 had a color cast issue, but I've learned how to remove it for the most part. Selecting the correct WB at capture/conversion time helps , and the rest can be removed in PP using the Hue/Saturation and sometimes a few other select tools when needed. For some reason most manual lenses really throws off the AWB of the SLR/c. It's odd, but most of the modern lenses don't have the WB or color cast issue. The Sigma 12-24, Tamron 14mm, Tokina 17mm, Tamron 28-75, Tokina 28-70, canon 50/1.8, ... none of those had any issue at all. Seems to have something to do with the lens design or MC's.

The best choice is to select lenses that don't have a problem. I've found all the Zuiko f/2 have little or no issue. Some Zuiko's like he 28/2, 50/1.2, 100/2, 35-80/2.8 and even the lowly 75-150/4 zoom have no issue and are excellent all around performers. For bold colors nothing I've tried compares to the Zuiko 35-80/2.8, but any decent lens will bring out the great colors of the SLR/c. Over at DPReview, I've read the Zuiko 24 and 35mm shift lenses work fine with the SLR/c, but have never tried either (although hope to someday). I have found the SLR/c is a picky little beast when it comes to lenses, but the results are worth it for me.
