Great photos everyone. This thread continues to be an inspiration. Those Autumn leaf shots are amazing. I also love the one of the fella smoking with a spare behind his ear and a packet under his sleeve.

This cat shot illustrates everything that is wonderful about that lens. Fantastic rich colour, sharpness, beautiful bokeh, even illumination, great contrast - technically it is just an amazing lens. But how does it manage to have no 3D effect at all? It's weird. Flat as a pancake. I couldn't avoid this flatness with my 180 f2. To me, it just shows how lenses have character. You need to shoot a lens before you know if you like the results.

Brainiac: I don't think the APO Elmarit can produce the same pop as the Summicron, but I think I can lure out some three-dee out of it, the sample was taken under very dull lighting conditions.

It will be interesting to see how it compares to the EF 135/2L I also have, which I have to say is a great lens with nice pop and bokeh.

Dergiman: I haven't had time for the outdoors and just about as I was gonna go out and shoot me some autumn shots it looks like winter beat me to it - this morning is dull and that dreadful white crust.
