Hi larry,
The ISO noise improvement you are talking about is in jpg only (in-camera conversion improved) or even for RAW processed out of camera with your usual workflow ?
i only shoot in raw cedric...so i see a big difference in iso 400 tiff images.
this at least gets me out of shooting in just iso 100-200, which isn't horrible, but it is limiting...I do not like the use of noise reducers as they decrease detail...and considering the cost of my equipment I want the most for my money not the least.

Hello, i am actualy new here, but i installed the new firmware but it seems nothing has changed, pictures stay the same (good) and all the rest isn't changed
I didn't notice a change between my two 10D's (the one that shipped with 1.01 and the other that I dumped to get this one with 1.0.0). Thena gain, I almost never shoot past ISO 200 if I can help it, so that may be why...
Still waiting on that list of changes for my curiousity
You've got to be kidding! I have done the upgrade myself and I am still getting 3fps. Are you sure your counting 6fps?! (you know, one-one thousand)? If so, what are your settings so I can try to replicate. Thanks
i did everything by the numbers and when the screen on the 10D said the upload was successful i pressed the set button to signifiy the highlighted ok. the body went off power never to return whether by battery or mains power. in thinking about it, as a mac user, the file was .fir.exe but the stuffit sw worked ok and the upload said it was completed.
It certainly did not change focus issues with my camera. I have a very slight back focus problem with mine, and it is unchanged. I figured that would be hoping for too much, so it's off to Canon at some point.
The first thing I noticed after the firmware update is that the cam is starting really much faster than before.
Didn't test other things. Wil do it tomorrow.

Does anyone have a link to a mac installer for the 1.0.1 firmware? I tried http://www.canon.co.jp/Imaging/dc/10D_101-e.exe but of course .exe files are for windows. The firmware listing at http://www.canon.co.jp/Imaging doesn't include the 10D and, of course, it's not availble at Canon USA. Thanks!
If you're using a Mac, use Stuffit Expander to "unstuff" the file, and you'll get the same folder with the same README file and the same firmware upgrade.
Thanks to everyone here. I'm not a computer whiz, but I downloaded and installed the update without a hitch. I'm heading to the Jersey shore tomorrow (Thursday, June 26), and I'll give the 10D a good workout with the new firmware. I have noticed quite often the best shots have been 1/2 to 1 stop less exposure than the in-camera meter indicates. Perhaps this firmware updat will correct that.
