When I phoned My Digital Discount to ask about their aftermarket batteries for the EOS 1DMKIIn, the woman I spoke with said it was identical to the Black Diamond NP-E3, and came out of the same factory. She chuckled that many people percieve it to be better because of the cost. I bought two of the Black Diamonds instead.
