Wavepix Offline Buy and Sell: On p.1 #1 · d200 compatibility? HELP! I heard that some of the Nikon autofocus lenses do not autofocus on the D200? Is this true? Does anyone have a list of chich lenses do not autofocus on this body? I am a Canon shooter and just bought a D200 and do not want to buy any lenses that do not autofocus on this particular body. DaveLandry Offline Image Upload: Off p.1 #2 · d200 compatibility? HELP! All AF and AF-S Nikkor lenses autofocus just fine on the D200. There are some Sigma lenses (for F Mount) that do not autofocus the D200 when the AF-ON button is pressed. Those lenses DO autofocus when the shutter release is "half-pressed". There's only a select handful that just can't be used, primarily any non-AI lens, an old non-AI fisheye, IX (APS) lenses, AF lenses for the F3-AF. The big glass lenses like the ones you listed should work just fine too. finbog Offline Image Upload: Off p.1 #4 · d200 compatibility? HELP! Sorry to say I had the non focusing issues, my 17-55 and sigma 150 macro would not focus in any way. Turned out it was the D200, sent it back to Nikon, when it came back, that issue was fixed. How ever, it now is very soft on almost all my lenses, it bands in the worst way, and fringing so bad that if it is a little bright it has a nice purple edge.Back to Nikon it goes. Tom Conte Offline Image Upload: On p.1 #5 · d200 compatibility? HELP! Brian, Outside of 'finbog' above, I have never heard this. As he says, if it occurs, the body is defective. Nikon and Canon both practice lens compatibility, although there are some exceptions only for manual focus film junkies. (For example, G series lenses have no aperture ring, and manual focus cameras do not have any other means to set aperture without the ring.)
