I still have no idea why there's a minority of forum users who seem determined to discredit anyone with D200 banding problems. But there you go. Life's strange, eh?
Yes, life is very strange, Seb. You could have mentioned my name, you know, rather than being overly dramatic. I have no problem taking responsibility for my actions. I make no claim to infallibility.
You are not being entirely truthful, here, Seb. Which simply gives credence to my earlier points with you.
I don't recall seeing anyone saying that the issue didn't exist, nor do I recall seeing anyone determined to discredit any user with d200 banding problems. I certainly did not do that. Your assertion to the contrary is strange, eh?
Gerald (chemprof) demonstrated that his camera has/had a banding problem, as have a couple of others that I've seen, where the banding was present in images that didn't have severely overexposed areas of the image. I acknowledged that he had a defective camera and said that nikon should replace his camera. Here's a link to my post to Gerald, to refresh your memory.

In that long thread, I believe that I also stated the belief that all d200s would demonstrate some banding in images where there were highlights that were severely overexposed. So, by your logic, I was discrediting myself?
So, there you go, Seb. I wonder what you will do now.
Garry (grmedhat1) wonders if the person to whom you referred, would be man/woman enough to publicly apologize. I wonder if he'll wonder the same thing about you.
I'm not going to dig into the archives to read what this is all about but if apologies are needed from both camps so be it. But I do hope it is said with sincerity so the matter can be put to rest.
