... or did Nikon simply say "we'll exchange it... send it in".
Your post gives the impression that there was some sort of a challenge - thus they admitted "defeat". Could it be an early production camera that you purchased had the usual early production "gremlins"? And that Nikon simply did the right thing?
Your earlier post stated that the images are soft, and invited us to see your pbase gallery. One image and a couple of crops... nothing else. It would be nice to see some of your other work to give context to the notion that you can actually take sharp images.
I'm not trying to be harsh... but you're new to the forum - and your posts so far only consist of "my camera has problems" and "Nikon admitted defeat".
My experience with Nikon service is that if you can demonstrate (clearly) that you have a problem, then they will fix the item or replace it. Customer service for most companies is less than stellar, however, Nikon does have a fairly decent record of acknowledging legitimate problems and rectifying the situation. Just look at all of the D2H meter replacements...
Brucer, that's the strangest post I've read in a long long time. You've only taken 50 shots and you are passing judgement on it?!? Are you kidding me?!? Honestly, I think you need to get yourself another hobby.
