My brother was playing in a blues jam in Wisconsin over the holidays and I decided to take a few photos. I got my 85 1.2 like two days before, so this was my first opportunity to try it out. All shots were with 20D and at ISO 1600! The lighting was NOT good. Here are a couple of shots that I thought came out okay for a first time out:
Cox, All were the 85L except the last one which was with the 35L.
Of course, what I did not say was that each of these got a good dose of Noise Ninja to start with (though not on the in focus areas) followed by selective sharpening (only sharpening the in focus areas). I
Nice shots. It is amazing how a big aperture helps in places like this! I have shot ballet using a 70-200 2.8 IS and while it was okay, I think I will be much better off with the 85L. I am even tempted to get the 135L, but I am not sure how much better that will be than the 70-200.....
