p.1 #1 · 300D & 20D with Sandisk Ultra II vs Extreme III
For the 300D or 20D, are there any major advantages to using an Extreme III over an Ultra II CF? Or what about a Lexar 80x?
I find on my 300D shooting RAW it is slow to write to my 256MB Ultra II... can the 300D benefit from the fater transfers of the lexar (80x) and Extreme III (133x) over the 66x of the Ultra II??
Looking forward, what about a 20D? I will probably be getting one within the next 6 mos. and want to keep the memory card I'm about to buy. Wondering if it is worth it to spend the extra on higher than Ultra II, sine I'm looking at 2gb or a couple 1gbs.
looks like the extreme III is a winner for the 20d, which overall is about 4.5x faster than the 300d.
the Extreme III is good for the 300d too, but seems very limited by the camera itself, so I'll probably look into that one unless an ultra II or lexar 80x wa is much less, since they arent all that far. the main problem again is the 300d's speed/buffer. even the 350d kills it (and the 20d too) in that respect.
p.1 #4 · 300D & 20D with Sandisk Ultra II vs Extreme III
I see no real benefit in write speed from Lexar 80x on the 300D, while seeing lots of speed increase on the 1 series. It appears that the 300D is speed limited.
