quite likely that i'll get one. i've the range covered with better lens, but i'd go for its convinence. Given that it's not too bad, a lens won't ruin my pictures, it will a great travel lens, esp when travel with others. it is a convinent hiking lens too.
15-30? quite unlikely since they' ve 12-24 and 15-30 might be too close to that?
maybe i'm more interested in a AFS 50-200 f4 VR.
i'm going for one, fantastic for saving weight when hiking, traveling haning off rock face and not needing to change a lens and the local shop had some snaps done with a d2x and he loved it. so when i get my d200 i'm getting this a 50 1.4 followed by 10.5, 105 macro, 180, and a 300 f4.
i really like primes but if your doing something else, there's no need to carry excess the weight of 4 lenses when the primary objective isn't photography.
I have Nikon 28-200mm G and it is good lens but not a true 200mm zoom.
For example, if I'm focusing on close object few feets away at 200mm, it is more like 150mm. However, if I focus on far away object of hundreds of metres away, it is nearer to 180mm.
I have tried 28-200mm side by side with 55-200mm DX to confirm that.
